Thank you for the warm welcomes. Sorry for not responding sooner, I was fighting my Gout! This thing is killing me, it keep coming back. I am OK now! Thank God.
I was born in Indonesia, at 21 went to West Germany alone to study. I study and lived close to the border of The Netherlands for 9 years and work in Bavaria for 1 year.
I often travel to France, where my sister live. One time I live for 4 months continuously in The Netherlands for business and often for Lunch or Dinner prior to that. It takes only half hour to the border and most 2 hours to Amsterdam. The food is less expensive and fit to my taste. Since 1980s I settle down and become a US citizen. Back to my hobby, I collect stamps when I was a boy, sick in bed for a month. Started to collect coins when I was a teenager got the first Kennedy coin from an American girl. But I never start collecting American coins until I arrive in the US in 1977, actively recently. I didn't know that there are so many US coins and many grades, polished, error and variations. All I collects are circulated coins and by collecting changes what I received or bank exchange. Of course I selected and always upgraded my collection if I get a better coins, that way I keep my interest alive. I don't like the idea to buy coins at high price and use it as an investment. I would love to find some new friends with the same passion to swap coins, like I did in the pass. I collect coins from all above mentioned countries, including Netherlands Indie, the former Indonesia's name. I almost got it complete, so I can't get rid.
Salam (Peace),
Samuel Tan
