Title: Britannia returning to a circulating coin
Post by: Kena on February 27, 2015, 07:29:25 AM
According to this the 2 Pound coin with Britannia will be replacing the Technology 2 Pound coin which has been used since 1997.

So this means new reverse and observe since the Queen's portrait is changing.

This brings up an interesting question....which coins from this http://www.royalmint.com/shop/The_2015_United_Kingdom_Annual_Coin_Set will actually circulate?

We know 100 of Royal Navy ones were put into circulation.

I like the design. Welcome back Britannia. :)

It lasted until 2022, when our beloved Queen died.

Coin on the right is a Britannia £2 coin next to a 2022 Elizabeth Platinum Jubilee, issued when she was still alive

I only have the 2015 & 2016 at this stage.
Maybe some later ones might be sitting on Kena's desk for me.
