Welome Mortyr2012 to our castle. I asked Mortyr to join us quite some time ago and recently located an email between the two of us so, now that we have our new home, I again brought up the KOTCT forum. It is great to have a representitive from Germany with us now as we continue to grow. Good to have you here Marvin! Pull up a chair and make yourself right at home.

Hello all!

as Twoshadows just mentioned, I am from Germany ;) My name is Marvin Jahn, I am 16 years young and have been collecting coins for around 7 years now.. It started, when I was a little child and I got a foreign Euro coin.. I really liked that there were different designs and I decided to collect these.. Any time I got one out of circulation I was very happy.. Well, then I had every coin and my father started to collect coins, he also had all Euro coins collected by types so far and decided to collect German coins.. He bought several bags of coins (all in all around 20 kilograms of coins) and I really loved the time when he asked me to help him to take a look for coins with a special year and mintmark.. In 2004 I began to have such a collection for myself.. I decided not to collect the same coins as my father and since I always wanted to have an student exchange to the USA I decided to collect coins from the USA by years and mintmarks.. all coins since 1793, but this turned out to be to expensive for me (keep in mind that I am a poor student  ;D ) and I searched a new area to collect. So in 2008 I decided to collect World coins since 1900 by types.. I try to get them in very good conditions only, so coins that were minted from 1960 until now have to be uncirculated in my opinion. That's the way I like them to be conditioned! As you see I answer the questions you have asked me in the PM I have received, so let me continue.. so far I have 1317 different coins from 150 countries. Some people may know me from www.coinpeople.com (this is the only English-speaking forum that I often visit - besides this I guess! :) ) .. Germany will now me from www.numismatikforum.de and www.emuenzen.de , but I prefer emuenzen.de since this is the biggest German coin forum and has a great community. (Sorry for advertising a bit  ::) ) My nicknames in all of these forums is Mortyr2012 as well.

One of the reasons for signing up in this forum is that I always look for opportunites to have contacts from all over the world.. I really would like to have trades with everybody who would like to have one with me.. I like to trade uncirculated Euro-coins for uncirculated coins from your country.. and in my opinion the only way to have a really fair trade is to trade face values for face values.. I also would like to trade for my own collection, but I also want to give other collectors from Germany the possibility to get coins for a low price.. so for example I have a give away in this German forum with US-American Quarters.. In Germany you have to pay for a set of all quarters of 2008 something like 7$.. I don't want to pay these prices and try to contact someone from America to buy rolls for face or around face and give German collectors the possibility to pay only around 2$ per set.. We have a strong community in this German forum and everybody tries to have these giveaway.. I hope you can understand the main idea? My English is not thaaaat good as you may see  ::) I am not sure how you guys have trades here and I will take a look to this forum in the future and may help you with German coins if you are interested.. I just need some time to read through.. And yes, I have just one coin from Australia, it's a 1 Dollar coin honoring the Centenary of Scouts from 2008.

I hope this is it..
Best wishes and a Happy New Year,
Marvin

I have been in Düsseldorf and Wuppertal several times, it's great to have a ticket that is valid in almost all over Northrhinewestfalia. I use it often to go to Bundesbank branches (that are only in bigger towns) to get mintfresh coins for example.. Well, at least I try.. sometimes they can't or won't give out any. So far I don't know Krefeld, and I guess I don't really want to visit it at all ;)
Well the Hollanders are only a stone's throw away from here, I have been visiting Katwijk, Amsterdam and Scheveningen in the past, quite a beautiful country I think, especially these small suburbs with these typical Dutch house are nice to look at.
Austria is also a very nice place to be.. In the Easter holidays I always go on skiing holidays there.. This year I may visit Salzburg, but we have not agreed on visiting this town..

So far I must say I have never been to Belgien  :(
Bis zum nächsten Mal! :D

Will probably come through Munich in three weeks on my way back to Ukraina.  First time since the last decade I will have been in Germany, but I was in Vienna back in November.  And all my Euro coins were all German, but I spent each and every last one of them.
