I think we all need a clarification of the procedures involved when a candidate withdraws from the contest? I am sure there were members who have cast their votes for Old Dan so do these folks now have the opportunity to vote again? I/We will await a reply and shouldn't the election now go through Monday evening so everyone has a chance to see what has transpired and act accordingly. Just want to make sure everyone has an equal opportunity to get their vote in and be counted. Any thoughts on this?

Terry,

I agree with you.

OldDan did have votes, and those members should be given an extra day.

So, let's make it Monday at midnight MST.

We currently have 12 votes, and with an extra day we should do even better.

BTW, this is a very close election!!

Those who haven't voted now have Monday.

Our current vote couldn't be much tighter.

Cast your vote!!

It's approaching midnight in the Rockies, and past my bedtime.  So allow me to wrap up the 2009 election for "Member of the Year."

The winner this year is Twoshadows, our founder.

Twoshadows won with eight votes.

Paint Your Wagon and Nevol tied for second place with four votes each.

Twoshadows now joins Daniel Carr and TKO as winners of our highest honor.

Thanks to all who voted, and congratulations to Twoshadows.

Thanks to all of you and your kind words.  I must say as time goes by I find it increasingly difficult to pin an award on anyone here as there are so many good people frequenting our castle. Simply outstanding Knights and Knightesses from all over the world who are just as responsible for the castle as I am. We are the result of one another!  Many of you are like trusted family members instead of forum members. My only regrets, at this time, is the mere fact I don't have the financial means to meet each and every oneof you. Maye someday I can take a long trip and shake some hands and tell a few tales. It would be a vacation I would never forget! Most of the U.S., Australia, Belgium, Canada, Turkey, Egypt and a few other European countries that have slipped my old mind! Guess my book needs to do really well to plan such a trip!!! ;D
