I'm GregK  Bit of background, I  live in South West Sydney and work in the city CBD. I'm originally from the Queensland bush and spent 24 years in the Australian Navy, as flight deck crew and then as a full time fire fighter (I remain in the task as a civilian).   With coins, I got the bug at around 10 years old in the late 60s, when I ordered some world coins from a magazine and it just commenced from there, though I did not do any more serious collecting until 1977 for a couple of years and started serious full time 1990.  I collect Aust decimals, world mint sets (Navy helped muchly here) and world special releases (State Quarters and Presidential series.)

Ahoy mate.
Between us we might be able to keep the khaki hoard at bay. ;)
Welcome.

I seriously want to go to Sydney, but for no other reason than to walk over the top of that remarkable Harbour Bridge.

My father did time out in Perth or Fremantle with the AF, which is the source of several of my Oz coins from the 1960's.

Welcome Greg.  I did the commute from SW Sydney (Wiley Park) to the CBD (U of Sydney and Sydney Conservatorium when it was on Pitt St.) for almost 4 years.  In some ways, I kind of miss that.  I also worked for a time down in Narellan.

Welcome Greg.

Glad you could make it to the castle.

I am originally from Sydney (30 years ago) and lived in Punchbowl.   Moved to Brisbane when I got married 34 years ago and have lived here ever since.

Terry,  I believe that there is a correspondence University course in the Australian language that is on offer. Also a shortened course for seniors.
It is conducted by a Professor Afferbeck Lauder.
Might be worth a try.

No worries, Greg. muckeye has just sent out a parcel that will very likely bring my decimal collections up to date. :) But thank you kindly for the offer!
Do add this coin to my collection?
