My name is Barry and I live a little way north of Brisbane in Australia.

My main  collecting includes world bi-metallic coins and tokens, German Nazi coins (almost have a compete set of these) Australian pre-decimal and decimal coins and banknote. I also collect US State Quarters and Presidential Dollars plus a number of other coins and medals that take my fantasy.

Currently I am the President of the Redcliffe Coin and Phonecard Club (I also produce the clubs Monthly Newsletter of 20 pages) and I am a member of the of the Queensland Numismatic Society and the Australian Numismatic Society (Queensland branch).

I also am a member or a couple of internet clubs like WINS and WBCC.

It is a privilege being here with a such dignified group of collectors.

Welcome aboard, hopefully I will learn to talk with all these people from Oz.

BTW as you noted previously I have this keen interest in pre-decimal Australian coins and especially the £10 in notes(the attractive feminine vignette)

Welcome to the Castle.  :)  Glad to know you're here with us, too.
Do add this coin to my collection?

Redcliffe (humpybong?)  I remember some good holidays there as a kid, used to get carsick over the old hornibrook highway bridge with the ups (let the boats through) and downs.  I understand that a major headache for the builders was getting the iron bark for the bridge.

Humpybong

Yep that is the problem with the old one, so they are going to pull it down and give us a duplicate of the Houghton Highway instead.

I didn't know that! I reckon all the people who use the old Hornibrook to fish off will be a bit put out.

They are going to keep each end with a bit of an area for historical reasons but I am afraid this will be the end of the old Hornibrook.

They have already started testing the bottom for the additional bridge, I understand work should start next year.
