In my opinion, if you are a numismatist adding coins, banknotes and exonumia to their gallery and then the dungeon of their castles, is likely to collect other things.

Here's what I collect as well.

1. Stamps - that was my thing before coins took over again (2018 - 2019), I have big collections of NZ and Australia, UK and most Commonwealth and Pacific countries. I still have them as I sunk mega money into this stuff between 2005 and 2021. Covid killed off my enthusiasm a bit.

Photo shows one of my Fiji collections for display at a talk in the late 2010s

2. Lego - Only the adult stuff like Creator modular buildings and architectural models like Neuschwanstein castle, Trevi Fountain, Museum etc and I even owned a Lego Titanic at one stage (I had a deprived child hood and try to compensate for it).

The lego looks like toys, but they are very hard to build (Taking a few days) and are not cheap (Figure $300 + per set). Its all R18 or more.

Lego has come a long way since I was kid. I actually preferred Meccano.
Off course, the one thing everyone hates is stepping on a Lego block with bare feet, LOL

My only other collection is stamps. I did have some bank notes, but sold them off to buy more coins.

I hope they were mint and kept in a good album, many 70s albums were printed on acidopherous paper that toned.

Next hobby is a new one - 3. Comic Collecting, but not superheroes or Violence, Donald Duck and Uncle Scrooge ones basically. I grew up reading these comics and always loved the Duck ones and some Mickey Mouse too (His comics were nothing like the cute mascot of Disney, 1930s - 50s Mickey Mouse was a tough little runt and always catching bad guys etc).

Again we run the gamut of pricing, any Gold Key, Whitman (1970s,80s) are cheap, Gladstone and Disneys (1986 - 1995) cost more as they were done by collectors and adults and are more academic than the kiddie fun of earlier comics. Here in Australia we had WG/Wogan Comics from 1950 or so to 1978 and they were reprints of American material and are the easiest to find, but often in poor condition. The ones from the 1970s are very common, 1950s less so. The superstars though are original Dell comics from the USA starting in the 1930s and I was lucky to buy 4 Walt Disney's comics and stories from 1950 - 52, photo 3 is my oldest from March 1950 when comics cost just a dime, it cost me $70 but is in great condition.

Natually Uncle Scrooge was my entry into coins too, as we all know how much he loves money, making money, being stingy and playing with his money (I do not recommend diving into piles of coins or banknotes!!!), and some of tyhe stories sometimes numismatics enter the fold like his 1875 first dime (In the books Uncle Scrooge was born in 1867 in Scotland and came to America in 1877).

So yes another expensive and silly hobby for me, cheaper comics cost between $1 and $8, more expensive ones in the $10s of dollars and really pristine ones like a 1940 Walt Disney's commics and Stories, Uncle Scrooge 1952 first issue - the sky is the limit.

Photos show - 1. Common Whitman and Goldkeys from 1978 - 1982 and a Magman comic from 1984 (A failed attempt by an Australian to revive them).
2. WG - Wogan comics (Australian reprints) - earlier 1970s a better group with intact covers
3. A real prize a rare March 1950 WDC and Stories with a CarL Barks 10 Page Donald Duck story (He was like the Kruger Grey/Stuart Devlin of duck stories).
4. A group of American gold keys from the early 1970s complete with authentic ads for decals, and sea monkeys.

When I was a kid back in the UK, I used to love reading Beano & Dandy comics.
