I have already invited a German collector called King, who is being harassed on Numista by some MAGA piece of work called TCon, if he comes, lower the drawbridge if we can.

Here's some nice commem 2 Kroners issued between 1888 and 1937 in Denmark. Often issued for King's birthdays, wedding and reign length anniversaries. These were one off year designs and are generally found in high grade.

One of the first was the 1888, 25th anniversary of Christian IX's reign - this was struck at a time when the Glucksburg dynasty was new and laying down roots. King Christian IX (1818 - 1906) was competing with Victoria for title of propagation of European royal families. The King had seen his second son become king of Greece and start a dynasty that lasted over 100 years and his daughters Alexandra and Dagmar married the Crown Princes of Russia and the United Kingdom. His own reign would last until 1906 when he was close to 90 years old, apart from his son Frederick VIII ruling for just 6 years, all his descendants would rule for a long time. The 1888 coin, he is already 70 years old, but looks younger.

In 1903 they issued a sapphire (40th) anniversary of reign and now we see the king looking much older and frailer (85) and even facial hair can not conceal the frail and aged face underneath. However his reign had bought stability and prestige to Denmark and we have the gift of early Art Nouveau design coming through as well.

Thanks its a favourite of mine too.

Here's a couple more of my babies, a high grade 1942S probably one of the commonest and almost but not quite UNC, there's rubbing on the eagle's breast and Liberty's ta tas if you look close.

The other coin is a more worn 1929S, still a decent coin and shows the usage of every day. This one would grade in the high VG to low Fine category.

I hear you loud and clear, but you would be shocked how cheap some of these old coins are! That Henry III penny cost me just $120 and I got 2 cut halves of a Henry II penny (1180s) for just $50 each at the Brisbane show, even the Henrican groats cost around $200 each.

I intend to show some more regular and later UK coins here too, those creamy ones were merely eye catchers and my attempt to zazz this forum up a bit as I wean off Numista and all its friends of MAGA taking over the place.

Before I got carried away with Medieval and Tudor coins, I was vibing off buying silver Halfcrowns from WW2 era. I bought these 3 beauties in 2020 when I first really started blowing the collection out and these all cost me $20 each then (Impossible now due to silver price, but in 2020, silver was like NZ $35 an ounce. These are all UNC looking but actually only gEF or AU as all have slight wear. I still love these coins today, the photos don't do justice, these coins all gleam!

Took me some digging through eBag but I turned up mine.
The pictures are only eBag sale pictures. Maybe I'll make an effort and find the actual coins and take some photos.

2021 $1 CC MORGAN SILVER DOLLAR NGC MS70 FIRST RELEASES CARSON CITY
US $269.91
2021 $1 S SAN FRANCISCO MORGAN SILVER DOLLAR NGC MS70 FIRST RELEASES
US $211.26
Had to pay extra to get the certificates.
No idea what they are worth now.
If I get around to it, I'll copy the eBag pictures and post here. Those prices included postage from the States. Given the top grade I wasn't complaining.

There we go. Again, not my pictures. Cost a heap but I don't have many 70 graded coins.

I did have a seated Liberty 20c coin in my collection, but traded it with Kena, as he needed it for his 7070 album. I kept a picture of the reverse, as it had lots of cracks. Maybe Ken can post a pic of the obverse.
