If you have any coins that you're not particularly attached to please consider running an Auction and donating the proceeds to the Medallion Quest.

Is it possible to let me know how much I need to pay and how best to make that payment? Sorry to be such a burden but I am really in the dark here. So many little things have been missed over past months.

Thanks
Wayne

AdamL I don't know what you ordered, without looking, but I can remind everyone of two things. Shipping is the same for everyone regardless where you live and please keep in mind PAYPAL will charge a fee on my end so always add a little extra to keep them happy.

My hopes at this time, should we come out ahead on this quest, would be to adjust the price of the 2010 medallions DOWNWARD but keep in mind the 2010 medallions later this year will probably be completely new designs as requested by D. Carr. I have also mentioned in an earlier email to Daniel what the possibility would be to use HIS Moonlight Mint obverse engraving for our 2010 reverse? This would forever tie our forum to his business and show our appreciation for what he has done for us. Also the design with the old Denver coin press and the moon in the background is another outstanding example of Daniels work. I am hoping such an arrangement can be made which would benefit our end as well as Daniel's end. Perhaps we can give Daniel the opportunity to sell them on his end as well seeing how it would be a joint venture? This would give both the Moonlight Mint and the Knights of the Coin Table exposure in areas where we have never been heard of? Just a little something for us to consider as personally I like the idea.

I like the idea of using the Moonlight Mint logo as a reverse. My only suggestion is to place something on the obverse of the 2010 Medallion that refers to the holder as a KOTCT Member. Hat pins, t-shirts, patches and etc. just doesn't strike me like a "one of a kind" Members Medallion. The kind of coin you would carry and use for a conversation piece. Tell others about the group and how you conversation piece came to be.

Just venting...

I don't seem to be able to locate the postage cost per medal ?
Can someone tell me ?

The winners of the august contest I held where Nevol and Longnine and the money
was sent to Merlin at the time each for 50 dollars .

This time I will be buying three silver proofs and give two away in
another contest before mailing is done.
The contest is simple . Guess a date . I will open this under contests
( I will be paying Merlin 40 dollars plus paypal cost plus three times shipping)

After doing some checking it is apparent I failed to mention shipping charges this year. Let's just go with $5.00 and hope all works out. That will cover shipping in the U.S. if we go first class mail and the extra accumulated from U.S. members should help cover extra costs for over seas shipments. Thats the way we have done it in the past and I see no reason to continue with EVERYONE pays the exact same shipping costs. PLEASE make an effort to remember the shipping charge but should you forget I am hoping the increase in price per medallion will safely take us home! And, in the end, should there be anything left over it will be held in the KOTCT Treasury for our next quest!

As nohope pointed out, if you're using PayPal, there is a way to avoid KOTCT having to wear the Paypal fees. If you choose "gift" in the payment box on the Personal TAB, you are electing to pay the fees yourself.

But have you seen Daniel Carr's rendition of the MoonLight Mint? Not to mention a cost savings to all involved by using an engraving that I assume would be readily available. ;)

Well I am not actually wearing any PayPal fees! I just look at it as a fee to do business over the internet and quite honestly it is US is wearing the fees. The results in my mind are well worth the cost as medallions last forever! ;)

When I paid via PayPal last night, the thing charged me $25 for shipping.  Is that normal, or was that just to cover the costs of PayPal's fees?

If you sent it as a gift you were ripped off by paypal
My fees for a 126 dollar gift starting from euro were 5.25 euro
that includes the using paypal like 3.5 % plus the fixed fee like .5 euro plus
the conversion from euro to dollars like 1 to 2 % depending who is in between , between
collecting fees
All in all like more then 2 years intrest on the money in one second

Sorry about the glitch! We worked on the bug for quite some time with little luck so I would suggest EVERYONE use my PAYPAL address if you are buying multiple medallions. ElleKitty I have already email you so check your mail.

Yes PYW we pay interest, more interest and then we can't forget hidden taxes on top of hidden taxes. I might point out those taxes are illegal in this country but someone in Washinton, years ago, forgot all about that. Products are taxed before they leave the factory, taxed at the middle man and more taxes on the store shelves. All in the name of what? I am sure it not anything good! And then to add insult to injury they beg us to save so they can tax us on our money that has already been taxed when we earned it? Seems to me we are fighting a losing battle as the monsters we call government are out of control, right along with their spending programs that for the most part benefit whom? :'( The reason our governments are into everything is the mere fact it makes it impossible for taxpayers to track the money! Let the corruption begin!

The wife of knight 007 got a complaint from the renting neighbors that her bathwater effluent stinks
I took the telephone and the second level neighbor which is the father in law of the owner said the ground floor neighbor had a stink problem and when I was going to fix that ? Now he has been on social security and not worked a day in like 15 years
So I told I told the father in law tonight at witching hour something would come
and fix it ; which the stupid fµ^^ck did not understand
My wife took the telephone and better then the best politician I ever heard made all
kind of promisses she was gone fix it ASAP
So I told her on a Sunday that was going to be 1000 euro out of her own savings ; and
suddenly she had no more intentions to fix it in a hurry since I told her my lawyer is much cheaper then that   :D

I got a bronchitis now and I am dreaming of all the legal things I am going to do to the ground level coward who never ever even whispered a word of problems to me

I do what I want as long as my wife can buy all the clothes she want ( and get the gold
to wear whenever it gets worthless) ;D :D ;)

Just a note to all the Knights and Knightessess who are involved with the 2009 Medallion Quest. I will be forwarding the initial payment to Moonlight Mint for the purchase of the silver blanks in the next few days. We are looking at $1,005.00 for that process so I will most likely send an even $1,100.00 on this first payment for the program. These funds are for the raw silver and the process involved to turn them into rimmed silver blanks. It is my goal to keep you all informed of the process as it moves along and our costs. We will be facing design, sculpting and engraving charges as well as striking fees. There will be costs for the other copper and pewter blanks added in the process but they will not affect the total like the precious metal silver does. This first payment will be a big chunk out of the way!!!

I will be making payment for silver blanks within the next few days. At this time, if memory serves me correct, we have a total of 51 silver medallions ordered. (both satin and proof). I have instructed Daniel Carr and the Moonlight Mint to strike 60 silver medallions which is 9 more than currently needed. They will be available as needed or to fill any orders which might come in between now and the March 5th order deadline. There is not a doubt in my mind, if more orders are not placed, they will be sold over a short period of time or they can be placed on Ebay to recap our funds. I just wanted to let each one of you know exactly what has transpired this morning concerning this intitial payment to the Moonlight Mint.

As usual I/We must understand this is a ONE STRIKE event for the 2009 Medallion Quest as there will be NO more struck any time in the future. Our efforts will turn to the 2010 Medallion Quest!

I would also point out, at this time, a total of 124 medallions have been ordered. Adding the extra 9 silvers puts the total at 133 medallions which is a very low mintage regardless what is being produced. Seems we are working on another future RARITY here?

Thankyou TwoShaows and Nevol and everyone involved in this. Sure seems like a lot of logistics!

It seems to me that we have members in enough countries to take over several countries, so lets aim for world domination!

Now I/We are back on topic? Please forgive me? :-[

Nohope I probably won't hear a thing until the banking world opens on Monday but I will check with PayPal later this evening.

I've sent a reminder to those Knights/esses that ordered medallions last year, but haven't ordered this year.

I advised that the closing date for orders is March 5, so maybe we'll receive another late order or two before the closing date.

I've also done a total recheck of all orders and any that were in any way ambiguous, I PM'd the member involved and requested they verify their order/s.

The order by 'type' list so far is:

32 x Silver Proof........$1280.00
20 x Silver Satin..........$800.00
17 x Copper Proof........$340.00
14 x Copper Satin........$280.00
20 x Antique copper.....$400.00
26 x 63mm Pewter.......$520.00
Total to Date............. $3620.00

129 Medallions all up.
