Quote from: Tanecoins on September 30, 2026, 10:11:38 PMWell I am here, part of the reason it may be dead is some improvements are needed.

The coin chat section is buried behind layers of announcements, welcome threads and some stuff that hasn't been added to since 2010 or 2017.

Move all the coin discussion, identification and show off threads front and top of the page.

World Coin chat, 90% of the World including New Zealand and the UK are relegated to the "Other world coins part". This is very reductive naming and locating and those who understand true castles will see this as like the "oubliette" of the castle.

I am a New Zealander and get a bit tired of seeing my own country and its coins completely reduced to other and like a minor "ward", "department", "atheling" etc. The world exists outside Australia and the USA.

Otherwise I like the layout, I can not understand why it shows modern Thai circulation pieces.

Otherwise its a decent looking board, like I said clean up the zombied stuff, like list of members that was last updated in like 2019. In fact "zombify" or grandfather any thread that has not been added to since 2024, some of the stuff showing is so old, I was still skinny and had Black hair when it came out!

Otherwise lets keep luring new members. This and ACF are a kazillion  times better than the moderation and globalist nightmares of Numista and CCF. Plus no ads and no people showing fake Chinese coins or junk.

I shuffled things around a little bit just to make the familiar visitors look a little harder. If they look harder they may find something they overlooked years ago. The newer visitors will get a look at the "Tane" touch

I also got the book he wrote as a present and later on a numbered 7 silver coin with the moonsurface on it which was only given to the moderators. I remember on joining i quit the cc mom and dad forum and one of their moderators sent me an email and asked very nicely to stay. I was a very good fotograder and correctly labled an incuse indian as ms63 i think it was. Later i got me a 1909 one

Another rumour, people said it was a death dollar as it showed a raven or a cadaverous face, in fact it showed a bear protecting its cub, its hard to show a 3d snout on a 2d log of wood. Also apparently bears or ravens are not signs of death, but some Aboriginal Canadians were offended.

Some other sites on the net about it, but one kicked me out saying I was a bot!

Its a funny story though, especially as in 1953, the Queen may have been a bit of a looker and that year was also when the first Playboy was issued showing a topless spread of Marilyn Monroe.

My guess is anyone publishing "topless" images of Her Majesty, may have ended up in the Tower as Treason was still a death offense up to 1989 and in 1953, people were still being hanged in most Commonwealth places.

On that forum you will still find post about our humble beginnings...
https://www.coincommunity.com/forum/topic.asp?topic_id=2929&SearchTerms=knights

I was not a member then, but joined a little later. Bobby got upset later, as he was getting emails about the KOTCT that others could not see, and then ended up closing it down, so we started this forum.
